Tap, hip-hop, pop, and rock, name any kind of dance and most likely Lisa Dallas has done it.  Leaps, jives, pirouettes, twists and more make up Dallas’ life.

Dallas started dancing when she was five years old.  She continued dancing at a studio in elementary and junior high school. While in high school she took part in show choir as well as studio dance.

When she graduated high school to attended Eastern Illinois University and was a member of the EIU Dancers for one year.

She tried out for the Pink Panthers Dance Team at the end of her sophomore year, but didn’t make the team until the second year she tried out.  Her love for dance drove her to keep trying until she made the team.

Being an EIU alum, when the opportunity to coach the Pink Panthers Dance Team came along in 2006, Dallas was excited to help the team.  “I wanted to help the team build their long tradition as being a premier college dance team.”

“Wanting to be excellent and performing for all types of audiences; pushing yourself to be your best and feeling the adrenaline rush during a performance,” are what make the Pink Panthers who they are.

Dedication and passion is key to the Pink Panthers success but Dallas is the holder of that key.  Dance is a way for Dallas to show who she is and help others build a love for dance.

Dallas doesn’t just teach others how to dance she is always learning new techniques herself.  She recently learned hip-hop dance and says it was a blast.  She still dances with a studio and does recitals.  She also teaches tap and fitness dance classes.

Dance was a calling for Dallas.  It’s not a job; it’s a way for her to continue doing what she loves.
